There are many advantages to your child having regular check-ups with their pediatric dentist as they grow into adulthood.  The AAPD                         recommends the first visit to be around one year old.  Early visits help to encourage better oral health habits, promote growth and development of primary and permanent teeth, and reduce negative dental anxiety due to fear of painful visits related to dental infection.
