Sango Smiles is proud to provide tooth tips for kids. We oftentimes ignore daily routines of oral hygiene that need to be upheld in order to prevent tooth decay and gum disease. Encouraging your child to practice healthy habits early will help guide them to continue those habits into adulthood. Parents should always supervise any child’s oral health routine to ensure proper technique and prevent injuries. Healthy oral hygiene habits include the following:
- brushing your teeth at least twice a day (after breakfast and before bedtime) for 2 minutes with fluoridated toothpaste
- daily flossing with floss picks or the traditional string
- using fluoridated mouth rinses and brushing the tongue to help reduce cavity-causing bacteria
- replacement of sugary foods with healthy foods/snacks
- regular check-ups and cleanings with your dentist
