While breath fresheners can hide bad breath, they do not cure the very problem at hand. Bad breath is mainly caused by a lack of oral hygiene.  Good oral hygiene involves brushing twice daily and regular flossing.  A dry mouth from certain medications can cause bacteria to flourish and result in bad breath.  Check with your family physician for recommendations of alternative medications if needed. Other causes of bad breath can be sinus drainage as well as excess debris on the tongue. Gargling with mouthwash and remembering to brush your tongue daily can help.
